Google has recently updated the Google WorkSpace policies for the users and the new policies will be implemented from February 2022. As per the new changes, all the Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drawings, Forms, or Jamboard files will be counted towards storage. As per the previous announcement, Google confirmed that after June 2021, all photos and videos uploaded to Google Photos will be counted towards “the free 15 GB of storage that comes with every Google Account or the additional storage you’ve purchased as a Google One member.”
The new policies bring the same changes to other Google Platforms like Docs, Sheets, Slide, Drawing, Form, or Jamboard. Any new file created on one such platform will be counted under the storage. Also, the documents that are created before 1 February 2022 will not take up the free storage. The new changes will be applicable to all the users of Google Workspace and G Suite licenses. Admins can also check the same by visiting the photos section in the drive.
Users with subscriptions to Business, Enterprise, Education, or G Suite editions can visit the Usage and support section of the Help Center to check out the storage. The plan details can also be checked on the Admin console. Google has confirmed that the increasing demand for storage is one of the major reasons for doing so. Google will also provide many users with the plan details that can certainly increase the storage space at a minimum price.
