When it comes to Android updates, there are very few instances where the update leads to total nonfunctioning of the phone. A very similar incident has happened yet again with Xiaomi as well. Mi A3 users in India were impacted by the latest Android 11 update where their phones were totally bricked. A similar incident happened with Mi A1 smartphone users as well, where the Android update disabled their cellular networks and the issue was reported by a small segment from all over the world.
However, this time Xiaomi has announced to provide a free fix for the users at their service centers where the phone will be fixed for free. So all the users whose Mi A3 smartphone has been bricked after the update can contact the Mi service centers and they will repair the phone for free. As soon as the issue was reported, Xiaomi was quick to acknowledge the issue that users have faced with the Android 11 update, and since then the company has halted the update. As per their official statement, “We kindly request users who experience this issue to visit any of the 2,000 plus service centers across the country nearer to you wherein a solution will be provided for free unconditionally (within or beyond warranty).”
The company has not provided any details on the loss of data or any solution regarding the same. The users have also mentioned that the phone did not even turn on the bootloader or wake up when it was connected with a PC. There is also no confirmation as to when the new version of the Android 11 update will be provided to the users.
