It is the time of the year again when Xiaomi is going to launch a new premium segment smartphone and this time it is the Xiaomi 12 series. The smartphone is confirmed to launch on December 28 and will bring at least two variants on offer. The phone would also be the first smartphone that will be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The smartphone is due to launch initially in China and will later launch in other countries as well.
There have been a lot of leaks about the smartphone which also revealed a lot about its design and specification. It is now almost confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in two variants which will be the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Both smartphones will use the same processor, but the major difference between the two will be the screen size. Where the Xiaomi 12 is expected to be a compact smartphone, the Pro variant is expected to provide users with a large screen size.
The phone will have a similar physical design and will come with a 50MP primary camera sensor on the rear for the vanilla variant and a 108MP sensor for the Pro variant. The phone will come with an AMOLED display and would support 67W fast charging as well. The feature would be increased to 120W fast charging support on the Pro variant. The smartphone will not only launch with Android 12 out of the box but will also be the launchpad for MIUI 13. Therefore the smartphone will be the first to run MIUI 13 skin on the Android 12 operating system.
