WhatsApp has seen an increasing number of video calls and audio calls through its mobile app after the pandemic hit the world severely. Since people were unable to go outside for both professional and personal reasons, WhatsApp video and voice calls were used to contact people over long distances. The best part was that the feature was completely free of cost for everyone without any limitation. However, for people who were using the web version of WhatsApp, were not able to enjoy the same features, as in the mobile app.
However, it now seems that WhatsApp has finally decided to bring the features to the web version as well. It has been reported that WhatsApp is currently working on the web version of its app to add the video and voice calling feature. The feature is currently under development by the WhatsApp team and is sure going to get this major upgrade soon. The statement from Wabetainfo says that “We have already announced that WhatsApp was working on Calls.
Today we are happy to announce new details, provided from the WhatsApp Web 2.2043.7 update!WhatsApp is considering the idea to offer Voice and Video Calls in the next few weeks, even if the development is in a beta-stage.“” WhatsApp has been trying to work on multiple features for the last few months. Although most of them are currently in development right now, it is expected that most of these new features will be available to the users on both the web and mobile apps by the end of this year.
