Apart from bringing out feature-rich smartphones, it seems like Samsung has been investing a lot of time in creating features for the smartphone that makes it durable. The company has recently launched the new Galaxy XCover 5, which is a durable yet stylish-looking smartphone with some unique features. Samsung confirmed that it will be available in Asia, Europe, and Latin America, with availability expanding to other regions at a later date. The device is expected to launch in the market in late March.
The main focus of the phone has to be durability as it is meant to be shock resistant, dust resistant, and water-resistant. The phone is IP68-rated and is claimed to be able to be submerged in over a meter of water for longer than 30 minutes. It also comes with the glove touch feature which will increase the touch sensitivity and allow users to operate the phone using a glove. The phone will also be equipped using the security platform Samsung Knox that enables end-to-end protection “from the chip all the way up to the apps.”
The phone comes with a 5.3-inch HD+ TFT display and has been powered using the Exynos850 processor. It also has 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage and has both single and dual sim variants. The phone will be running on Android 11 out of the box and will have a 3,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging. Although the battery might seem less, that might be due to the compact form factor and smaller screen size.
