Reliance Jio has been really busy creating new apps and devices for Indian consumers. In the same trend, the company has now officially launched its own new web browser. The new web browser JioPages, which uses the Chromium Blink engine, is a secure and efficient web browser that can enhance the browsing experience. As per Jio, the browser has been “conceptualized and designed entirely in India.” Since the browser has been designed for Indian consumers, it brings along the support for eight different Indian languages on board.
Also, the browser can provide localized news content and curation along with a smart download manager, incognito browsing, encrypted connections, and a lot more new features. The browser is already available on Google Play Store for Android users to download and try. However, it does seem that the browser is currently not available for iOS users and can be expected in the near future. The regional languages that JioPages support are Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali.
The language can be selected under preferences in browser settings. Apart from that, the users will also like the features of PIN-locked Incognito Mode and a built-in Adblock Plus, which would be new for Indian users. Since Jio is based on the platform of Chromium Blink engine, it will provide good web page rendering, faster page loads, efficient media streaming, Emoji domain support, and encrypted connection. The browser feed can also be customized as per the user’s preference and can also be used to only display whitelisted websites.
