Xiaomi, under the Redmi brand, has launched a new Redmi Smart Band, at a very affordable price-point. The band was launched in April this year, but only for the Chinese market. However, it was expected that a similar model would be announced for the global market soon. The all-new fitness band might be an inspiration from the product launched in April, but has a lot of changes for the global market. The design, for instance, is completely new and refreshing and comes with a square dial, a 1.08-inch color display, and a USB A built-in connector for charging.
The entry-level fitness band has now been launched in the Indian market and is expected to bring a lot of customers who are looking for a budget option with multiple features. The fitness band will come with multiple features like continuous heart rate monitoring, multiple sports modes for activity tracking, a sleep monitor, and a sedentary reminder. When it comes to battery life, it was already expected from the brand to give at least 15 days of battery life and the company has committed 14 days in a single charge.
For users who thought carrying a charging dock for the fitness band was hectic, the company has made an in-built type A USB charger, which relieves the user from carrying a charger everywhere. The band is also water-resistant till 50 meters for up to a time of 10 minutes. It would come with 50 default watch faces out of the box and more can be downloaded and will be provided in updates. It also lets you control music and get alerts for apps and calls. Priced at Rs 1,599 in India, it will be available through Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, and other offline retailers on September 9. If you are looking for a compact and slim fitness band, then this might be a good option.
