Expect a large horsepower gap between Snapdragon and Exynos on Samsung Galaxy Note 20

The much-awaited Samsung press conference will be conducted on August 5, and everyone is waiting for a lot of new devices to be launched. Among many other devices, one of the most awaited is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, which is said to be the most powerful note device till now.

However, as per the details that have been leaked, it is expected that Samsung will continue using its Exynos 990 chip in Galaxy Note 20. Meanwhile, other Samsung phones will be upgraded with the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, leading to a huge gap in Samsung phones’ performance.

Samsung is expected to use the Galaxy Note 20 duo model with the new Snapdragon 865 plus chipset, which will provide much better performance than the existing Exynos chip. Since the 865 plus chipset has been recently launched, the chipset’s overclocking feature makes it much more power-packed than any other existing chipset till now.

The information received from Max Weinbach does mention that there are no references to any new Exynos chipset by Samsung rather than the Snapdragon 865. Therefore, the company will be using the same Exynos 990 chip in the Galaxy S20 lineup outside of the US. The company was earlier rumored to develop and launch the new Exynos 992 chipset on the Galaxy Note 20 series. However, it is believed that the company still has a lot of research and work left to do on the development of the chipset.

With the difference in the use of chipset in the Galaxy S20 series outside the US, it is expected that the same device from other countries will suffer from a lack of performance and features as well. Unless Samsung launches a new and improved Exynos chipset, the US’s devices will be running on the Snapdragon version.

Samsung has been working on wearable tech for a long time now, as a direct competitor to the Apple watch. The Galaxy fit was an entry-level fitness tracker whose basic functioning and features. Upgrading on the same design, it is expected that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Watch 3 with premium features.

Since the last few wearable devices from Samsung like Galaxy Fit 2, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit E did not perform as expected in numbers, the company has now been prepping up to unfold the all-new Galaxy watch 3, which is probably going to overcome all the limitations and lack of features in previous wearable devices.

The leaked images do show a heart rate sensor integrated at the back, but there is still no confirmation of GPS as a feature that was missing in Galaxy Fit. It is expected to be the new Galaxy Watch 3, but it can also be a new product altogether, for which we will have to wait for the Samsung event to unfold.

Until then, we can only expect Samsung to provide a much better wearable device this time, with all the features which were missing in the previous watch devices. Until then, we can expect Samsung to understand the flaws in their previous devices and would not repeat the same in this product.

The company has just announced that they will be investing $250 million into gaming studio Epic Games, who are behind the successful franchise Fortnite and Epic Games Store. The information was provided through VentureBeat, where it was confirmed that Sony is investing a big amount in Epic games.

Epic games have been looking for investors for quite a while now and have managed to raise around $1.83 billion. As per venture beat “Sony and Epic to broaden their collaboration” through Sony’s current games coupled with Epic’s existing platform distribution.

It is the reason why we can see the release of Unreal Engine 5 on Sony PlayStation. As per Eouc games, they have been working with Sony for a while now and the Unreal Engine 5 is something that totally compliments the next-generation architecture of the PS5. Apple suggests not to use Webcam covers while closing the MacBook

Apple has been issuing warnings and advisory to their iPhones and MacBook users frequently to make sure that their devices do not malfunction due to small issues. Recently, Apple has issued another advisory for MacBook users not to use webcam covers while closing it. As per the company, the webcam covers that are used on the MacBook Pro and Air models can damage the display of the device due to minimal clearance between it and the keyboard.

Also, any such damage to the machine is not covered in Apple care as well. The company suggests its users use the LED light indicator to determine whether the webcam is in use or not.

Webcam covers have been used by a lot of users to maintain privacy and make sure that it is not being used without their permission to monitor them. Due to the same reason, Apple started receiving a lot of customer complaints where the users face issues with their device display.

On further investigation, it was found that the screen issue was mostly occurring in users who were using the webcam covers. Apple says that the space between the display and the keyboard is very less and also the webcam covers interfere with the ambient light sensor, impacting the truetone effect.

The company claims that the users do not have to worry about the use of their webcam without their permission as the camera setup has been designed in a way that it cannot be triggered by activating the green led light notification. It is why Apple has issued a clear advisory not to use the webcam covers or simply remove it before closing the device. The users also have the option to control the application access to the webcam. Also, webcam covers should be no more than 0.1mm in thickness and should be without adhesive, if used.

The images were leaked by Pictou, which is a phone accessory store and claims that these pics are CAD-based renders of the Google Pixel 5 device. Although the leaks are still to be verified, we cannot be sure whether these leaks are genuine. However, we did want everyone to know that Google Pixel 5 is a mid-range segment smartphone device that Google expected to launch in the future.

As per the leaks, it looks very similar or a spiced-up version of a Google Pixel 4a. The leaked images show a similar camera setup to that of a Pixel 4a and also houses a rear fingerprint scanner. The phone also has a front selfie camera on the left side of the screen, which does not seem to be the kind of design Google wants to go with its Pixel range.

It is why the leaks cannot be confirmed as genuine at this point. Since these pictures are from an unproven source, they do not provide a confirmed picture of what a Pixel 5 should look like. So we cannot possibly imagine a Google Pixel 5 based on these images and will have to wait for a few more leaks if the phone is in the development process.

OnePlus Launcher v4.5.6 gets toggle feature between Google Discover Feed and OnePlus Shelf

The update improves the feature where the user adds an optional downward swipe that allows quick access to the OnePlus shelf, which is very similar to what a user does to access the access panel on android. With the new update, the user has been given a dedicated toggle button to switch between Google discover feed and OnePlus shelf.

The functionality is easier to adapt to and allows the user to access their favorite content and application from the Google feed or One Plus shelf as per their choice.

It is still unclear whether the old swipe down feature has been removed in this update or not, but the process has been made easier with the toggle button. The only problem is that the feature has not been activated on all the devices with the same launcher.

It seems that multiple OnePlus devices that have been updated to the current version of the launcher do not have access to the toggle button. It seems that the function can only be enabled through a server-side switch, which is not how the companies have been working these days.

Those who cannot see the toggle button might still be able to use the swipe down feature on their smartphones.
