With so many new updates coming for smartphones and popular social media platforms, Whatsapp would certainly not like to be left behind. As per the latest reports from moneycontrol, the company has been working on a new feature called “Linked devices“, which will be made available to all the users globally. The new feature is said to allow a Whatsapp user to use the application on four devices simultaneously, with the same account.

It is a feature that the company has been working on for a long time. Once this feature is available as an update, it can be activated through the three dots visible on the top right of the Whatsapp screen.

Once activated, the user can log in to Whatsapp with the same account on four devices. The data and chats between them will be under continuous sync, and it will allow the users to continue the chat using any different device. The chat visible on one device will also be available on the other three devices.

The feature is currently in its Beta stage and is being tested for any remaining bugs. The feature is expected to be rolled out very soon to all the global users. Another update on Whatsapp will also allow the users to search for files from different categories of data like photos, videos, GiFs, links, and documents, etc.

However, there is no official information on when this feature will be rolled out on the application as it is still under development. Once developed, it will go under many testing phases before being rolled out. These are not the only features that you will see on this app. Along with Facebook resources, the company is trying to develop many new features revealed in the future. The linked device feature is something users were looking forward to and will be made available to every user soon.

Samsung has always been eager to bring out new features on its phone, and as a result, they are now planning to replace the German ID card with their phone. The concept is not new, as it was in discussion for a long period on a global scale. Since almost everyone has a smartphone now, one does carry a digital copy of the ID cards on their phone. However, replacing the physical ID card with an original digital version on the phone will be a new concept.

Samsung has announced that Germany’s National electronic ID will be available on its phones later this year. It has happened due to an exclusive partnership with the German Federal Office for Information Security, Bundesdruckerei (bdr), and Deutsche Telekom Security.

With this feature implemented in Germany, citizens would not have to carry their physical ID card any longer. They can carry all their original ID cards on their smartphone. They have developed a hardware-based security architecture, which would allow the citizens to do so. All the organizations involved in it have developed a holistic security architecture around the hardware.

The German users of  Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy S20+, and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will add their national ID through a dedicated app, distributed by bdr (Bundesdruckerei), and can be used to open a bank account or use specific eGovernment services. The most common concern for the citizens would be the security of their personal information.

Samsung has already mentioned that its Galaxy S20 family of phones will have embedded Secure Element (eSE). It stores all the sensitive data on a separate processor inside the phone with proper isolation and protection against hardware attacks and attempts to copy information stored. Samsung claims that it will set the base for adding more documents on the phone, such as driver’s license, insurance cards, keys, etc.

Apple is all set to release its new generation of iPhone 12, and news has started to emerge related to it. The latest news does not seem to be very positive for Apple fans, as the iPhone 12 might have been delayed to November this year. Information about the battery capacity has also been leaked, which does come as a spoiler for people expecting something more from the new iPhone.

The details from Macotakara mentioned that the launch of the iPhone 12, which is a 5G model, will be delayed to November 2020. The major reason for the same is “multiple Chinese suppliers” who have been facing many issues related to production, amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Due to this, it is expected that Apple will launch the lite version of the iPhone 12 in October, which is not 5G. At the same time, the 5G variant will be launched in November. Apart from these details, a tweet also disclosed that the iPhone 12 pro’s battery capacity would be just 2775 mAh, discovered in South Korea’s SafetyKorea agency’s database. If the rumors are true, then the device’s battery capacity will be smaller than the iPhone 11 models, which was 3046 mAh.

Last month, another rumor came up that the company will not be including any charging brick and cable in the box. The box will have the iPhone device and the necessary documentation. No matter which details are made public, Apple consumers are still waiting for the device’s official launch. Once the official date comes in, we will update the same to our readers.

Periscope Telephoto cameras coming to iPhone

Apple iPhone is known for its groundbreaking camera technology, which has improved and got better with time. It will not be wrong to say that the camera on an iPhone is one of the best among any smartphone and even competes with some of the low range DSLR cameras. Adding up to this, Ming-chi Kuo, the analyst of TF Securities, has provided information that Apple will be using a periscope telephoto camera in the iPhone lineup in 2022.

The news was found on 9to5Mac, AppleInsider, and MacRumors. The details of this information came out when Semco, a South Korean company, was reported to contribute autofocus motors to this year’s new iPhone models and is said to be in line to provide about half of the supply periscope optics.

Periscope cameras are a way of enabling long focal lengths in devices like smartphones, where physical depth is at a premium. These kinds of cameras use prisms and mirrors to reflect light in the sensors. Chinese mobile manufacturers also use the same technique like Oppo and Huawei, where their phone cameras can provide up to zoom 5x. The same technology will also be used by Apple competitor Samsung in the new Galaxy range of premium smartphones.

Apple currently uses 2x zoom in all their models, which they started using in iPhone 7. With the shift to periscope design for cameras, it is expected that we will see iPhone in 2022 with up to 5x zoom out even more. Apple has been quiet about this development and has not made any official statement on this news.

However, since it has been a lot of time after the iPhone 7, the company is soon expected to change the camera setup to something better. We do hope that we get to see more camera improvement apart from using a periscope camera.
