A few days back, Indian smartphone company Lava announced that they will be re-entering the smartphone market with a new smartphone lineup equipped with the latest hardware technology. The company at the Lava Mobiles’ Game Changer event launched four new smartphones that are a part of the “Make in India” program. The first two smartphones are the Lava Z6 and Z4 which are essentially the same phone in terms of specs and design. Both the smartphones come with a 6.51-inch display with 720p+ resolution and will be running on Android 10 out of the box. The phone is powered using the Mediatek Helio G35 chipset has a different RAM setting for both models.
The Z4 comes with 4GB of RAM and the Z6 model comes with 6G of RAM, which is the only major difference between the two models. Both the models have 64GB onboard storage and a MicroSD slot to expand the storage. Both the smartphones have been fueled by a 5,000 mAh battery and use USB C-type slots for charging. Both the smartphones also come with a dual-camera setup of 13MP primary and a 2MP ultrawide lens. The front comes with a 16MP front camera and 1080p video recording capability. The Z2 is a lighter version of both the phones and has a 6.57-inch display with a 6.57” 720p+ display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
It comes with the same chipset and battery capacity, along with 2GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The 2 MP camera on the back is a normal lens instead of an ultrawide lens. Finally, the Lava Z1 is the first smartphone designed in India and comes with a 5-inch screen equipped with gorilla glass 3 protection. The phone has a single 5MP camera on the rear and front and runs on Android 10. It is fueled using 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The phone uses a Mediatek Helio A20 chipset based on 12nm architecture and has a PowerVR GE8300 GPU. The phone has a smaller battery of 3,100 mAh, but since the chipset does not consume much power, it is expected to provide a good battery backup.
