Jio Phone Next has been launched in the Indian market and brings 4G connectivity through smartphones at the most affordable price. The phone is a joint venture between Jio and Google and runs on Pragati OS, which is a customized form of Android, which brings performance on smartphones with low-end specifications. The company has requested all the interested users to register on their website before going to the store to purchase it. The website will ask you for basic details and will register your request through an OTP on the mobile.
The phone has been launched at a price of Rs 6,499, which does not seem that affordable. However, if you purchase the phone with Jio plans for 18/24/48 months, you will get the smartphone at a minimum price of Rs 1,999. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch HD+ screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 SoC to power it which is based on 28nm architecture. The phone comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.
The phone is powered using a 3,500 mAh battery and 7.5W charging. The display is not as bright but will be good for day-to-day use. However, do not expect the phone to provide a clear display under direct sunlight. Also, since the processor is based on 28nm architecture, the battery life can be a bit short. It will have all the basic Jio apps and a few features like text reading and translation. Users will also be able to use multiple languages to operate the phone through voice commands.
