We all know that Facebook operates all three Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, due to which they are trying to integrate the services and features of all and combining them into one platform for messaging. Initially, they only combined the elements of both Facebook Messenger and Instagram, but it seems that they are finally now moving to make the changes in WhatsApp.For now, the functionality that will be added to WhatsApp is under development and it can be expected to roll out globally by the end of the year.
It will also allow the users to add their favorite emojis as message reactions, similar to how it is done in iMessage. The details for the message reaction feature were leaked online a few days back, showing that Facebook is now finally adding Messenger and Instagram elements to WhatsApp as well. The leaks online are from the iOS version of the app, but the features will be added to both the Android and iOS versions when ready.
Also, to use the new features, both the users will need to have the latest version of the app or the person with the older app will not be able to use these features. Once the features are rolled on to the smartphone application, they are also expected to be launched on the Web/Desktop version of the app. There is no confirmation as to when the new features will be made available, but it will take another couple of months of development and then testing.
