Chinese brand Huawei has recently held an event in Vienna, to launch their 4G nova 9 series smartphone, one day after opening a new official flagship store in Vienna. The Nova 9 was the first smartphone from the company to debut in 2021 in Europe. Although the company is facing a lot of issues due to the US chipset ban, it has still shown commitment to the overseas market. It is expected that the smartphone that has been launched in Vienna, would be the first to come with HarmonyOS for the users there.
HarmonyOS had some really great features like multi-camera video recording, accessing another device on the same platform through Wi-Fi, and more. However, these features were only available in China and would be interesting to see if the company decides to bring them to the international market. After opening their largest flagship stores in Vienna, it has been made clear that Huawei, in spite of the chipset ban, will continue to cater to the needs of international consumers.
Apart from the phone, the company has also launched products like MateView, a gaming monitor, which would work with the Harmony OS ecosystem. They will also be conducting a developers conference in Vienna for Harmony OS to figure out new features that can be offered to international users. Although the last couple of years have been difficult for the company, they have still been able to hold the major share of the Chinese market and make themselves visible in the international market as well.
