It’s the time of the year again when a new Pixel smartphone from Google will be launched in India. This time, the smartphone will be the Pixel 6a, which will be the successor to last year’s Pixel 5a. The Pixel 6a smartphone would be a low-end variant of the Pixel 6 series, but still powerful enough to provide good performance. The smartphone is now expected to launch in the month of May 2022 and the event would be in sync with the Google I/O announcement.
The company is also expected to launch the Pixel watch at the same event as well. The details are still undercover for the Pixel 6a, but the unofficial renders of the smartphone have already been posted on the internet. The renders confirm a large camera block on the back with a dual-camera lens setup along with a three-tone color scheme. The front gets a 6.2-inch OLED display along with a punch-hole cutout for the camera unit.
Since Pixel has stopped using any third-party chipset, they are expected to power up the device using their in-house Google Tensor GS101 chipset, which is the same chipset used in Pixel 6. The phone could also house a new 50MP camera sensor on the rear along with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. It will be the first budget smartphone from Google which will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. We hope to see more leaks and details of the smartphone before the official launch in the month of May.
