Google will be adding some new and exciting Android 11 like features for the Pixel Stand app, that will make handling the home connected device much easier with your Pixel smartphone. The company has rolled out the update which adds more home control features to Pixel 3, Pixel 4, and Pixel 5 smartphones. With the new update, you will also be able to control things like thermostats and lights. One of the most noticeable changes that you will see in the app is the Android 11 style power menu.
It is not only managed and designed beautiful, but also gives options for shortcuts to home automation features. With the new update, when your wireless charging-supported Pixel device is on the stand, all you have to do is tap on the display and you’ll see quick controls for your smart home devices. Once the update is downloaded and installed, simply go to the “Connected devices” option and select your Pixel Stand, where you will see the home controls. That page will allow you to have control over things like lights, fans, thermostats, etc.
Also, you will not have to take your phone off the Pixel stand to control a connected device or feature of your phone, unlike previously. The update will work on the given Pixel devices, however, the phone should have been updated to Android 11 first. The new update does not add any part of the new Nest devices, but it can be a possibility that we will see an update for the same in the future.
