Ever since WhatsApp has brought in their new privacy policies and has kept a condition for the users to either accept them or stop using WhatsApp, many individuals and companies have been criticizing their move. In the list of people criticizing them, Elon Musk has also given his opinion on the same. The billionaire went over to Facebook on Thursday and slammed Facebook on their latest privacy policy update. Musk even went ahead and suggested people use the messaging app Signal instead.
The tweet by Elon Musk gained a lot of views and was further re-tweeted by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Shortly after the tweet, Singal went on to receive a huge number of new users on their platform. This is not the first time that Musk has publicly criticized Facebook on the same privacy issues. He has already removed both his personal and company Facebook page in the past as well for both Tesla and SpaceX.
Where WhatsApp has been sharing the user data with Facebook ever since the acquisition, the new privacy policy further expands the ways the sharing of data will be done. On the other hand, the messaging app Signal is known for not sharing the data and trying to keep the user data protected to their best level. No matter what, WhatsApp’s new privacy policy has created a stir among the users where they have not been given a choice to share the data and instead have been simply asked to accept them or stop using the service.
