Apple has been planning a lot of large scale developments for Apple India. The same could be seen as Apple has already started its production of Apple devices in India with the iPhone SE. Now, new details have emerged from Apple, hinting that the company could soon be launching a dedicated online store for India as it is one of the fastest-growing smartphone markets in the world. Ever since the Indian government has provided some relaxation to the foreign direct retail investments, Apple has been very interested in new business opportunities that lie in India.
The online store could possibly be launched by the next month, which is targeted to be open around the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali, as the purchase and spending ratio of people during that time is at its peak. The plan of starting the online store was due last year for Apple, but the plans were interrupted by the pandemic. The iPhone market in India has been extremely profitable for Apple as the number of iPhone users has been increasing steadily. The company is also planning to open a second physical store in Banglore, and an outlet in Mumbai.
Apart from these plans, Apple has been looking to influence the 1.3 billion population of India and encouraging them to buy Apple products. The timing of opening the online store might be a perfect opportunity for Apple to capture a large market share of smartphones in India and increase its direct sales to the customers.
