Apple iPhone 14 is going to be launched in September this year and a lot of details related to it have already been leaked online. One of the leaks hinted that the new iPhone 14 will come with a ProMotion Display and will also have support for a 120Hz refresh rate. However, as per the latest update, the 120Hz refresh rate and ProMotion display might only be reserved for iPhone 14 Pro variants while the regular iPhone 14 and 14 Max would only get a 60Hz refresh rate.
Now we already know that the company is going to ditch the mini variant this year and is going to launch four variants which are iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. It was expected that the new series would have a big update in terms of display for all variants, but the new reports claim otherwise. As per the details, Apple is getting their display panel from Chinese company BOE and they are currently incapable of supplying OLED display panels with varying refresh rates.
Due to this, it was estimated that Apple might not upgrade the base variants of the iPhone 14 series and would only apply it to the Pro variants. The same is the case with the latest iPhone 13 series which only has a 120Hz refresh rate in the Pro and Pro Max variant. It is also expected that Apple might get rid of the big notch they have in the iPhone for the iPhone 14 series and have an in-screen FaceID sensor
