AMD was working on its next generation of desktop processors for a long time and now they have finally launched them. The company today announced the Ryzen 5000 series of CPU’s which is based on the latest Zen 3 architecture of the company. The company has announced a total of four new models today and the starting price for the same will be from $299, all the way up to $799. One of the processors is the new Ryzen 9 5950X which has 16 cores and 32 threads. The chipset can be clocked at 3.4GHz and 4.9GHz on a turbo boost.
As per the company, the 5950X has the highest single and multi-threaded performance of any mainstream desktop CPU. It also comes with 64MB L3 cache and TDP of 105W. The 5950X is priced at $799 and replaces the previous 3950X. Then there is the Ryzen 5900X with 12 cores and 24 threads, which is capable of 3.7GHz base clock, with a turbo boost up to 4.8 GHz. It also has 64MB L3 cache and TDP of 105W, making it a great gaming processor. The processor has been priced at $549.
Another processor that has been launched is the Ryzen 7 5800X, which has 8 cores and 16 threads and can be clocked at 3.8GHz and turbo boost to 4.7GHz. It is a single chipset design with 32MB cache and 105W TDP, which has been priced at $449. Lastly, there is Ryzen 5 5600X with 6 cores and 12 threads, with a base clock of 3.7GHz and a turbo boost at 4.6GHz. The processor comes with 32MB cache and a reduced TDP of 65W. It has been priced at $299.
