While Samsung is all set to launch its new Samsung Galaxy S21 series on January 14, we also know that Samsung will be launching a lite version of the premium flagship as well. It all started in 2020 when the company launched Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, as a light version of the S20 series. The phone became a hit and was much more affordable than the premium version. As per a report from Korea, the company is going to drop the local pricing for the next flagship line considerably while betting on the most affordable contender to lead the line.
Since Samsung is expecting the S21 series to be their best seller of all time, it has been confirmed that the company is dedicating 60% of its production and resources to the cheapest S21 device, which will be the lite version. The company is expected to drop the price of the lite model to $900 which can be a decent price to start with when it comes to the $1,146 price tag that was marked for Galaxy S20 last year.
The price decrease will not stay limited to just the lite version of the S21 series, but will also be marked on the other smartphones which are the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. The price is expected to be lower than what was decided for the premium flagship last year. It is said that the price drop would be to bring in direct competition for the iPhone 12 series and cover the market gap that has been created by Huawei.
