The one feature that made Xbox a choice for many over Sony Playstation, was a complete audio media experience, along with gaming. It is why most of the users preferred Xbox as it was not only a gaming-specific device but also offered a lot more apps and streamed content. Since both the companies are about to launch their new gaming console in the month of November, it seems that Sony will be adding some new features to the Playstation as well. As per the new details, the Sony Playstation 5 will be getting some pre-loaded apps that can be used to stream media content, similar to what Xbox has been providing for many years.
Some of such streaming applications will be Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, MyCanal, Peacock, and more. The addition of these streaming applications is definitely a new approach to what Playstations has been following for so many years. But it will serve well for Xbox users and they can use the features to switch the console preference. The company has also confirmed that PlayStation 5 will not only be a gaming console and will act as an entertainment hub for users.
They will be able to do it using the Media Remote, which will be provided with the console. Also, apps like Youtube and Twitch will have a much deeper integration with Playstation 5, through which they will be able to directly stream their gameplay on these platforms. The remote comes with built-in play and pauses buttons, fast forward and fast rewind, volume adjustment, and power options. It also gets dedicated buttons for apps like Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify.
