Google launched the new Pixel 6 series of smartphones in the US a few days back and it was expected the phone will soon launch in the global market, except the eight countries it is available in right now for pre-orders. Now, Google has confirmed that the smartphone will not be launched in many countries like India in the future. This seems to be sad news for all the Pixel smartphone fans in India. However, Google has some very specific reasons for the decision.
As per them, one of the major reasons for the decision is issues in the global supply chain. Apart from that, there are a variety of factors that have contributed to the decision. As per Google, due to the global supply chain issue, they will not be able to provide their smartphones in other countries. However, in case the supply chain becomes better globally, they would definitely make the smartphone available in other countries. Another reason is the market share of smartphones in India, where the major segment of smartphones that are sold in the market is below the $300 price bracket.
Also, the premium segment is already captured by Chinese companies and companies like Apple. Pixel smartphones have been launched in India previously but only the downgraded version with an A added to the end of the variant name. Therefore, it would be correct to say that Pixel 6 is not going to see the Indian market in the future unless the market conditions change drastically for Google.
