It seems that Twitter-like to be in the news for all the reasons. The platform has recently added a lot of new features for the users and is even coming out with a feature-filled subscription plan. However, the latest news does not seems to be a happy note for the company. Recently, many Twitter accounts were hacked, which belonged to international celebrities, politicians, business people, and many more.
Through those accounts, the hackers used to ask people to submit bitcoins on a specific address, after which they would get double the amount back. The hack made a lot of news and was visible with twitter account all over the world. After facing this mega crypt hack last month, Twitter accepted that they discovered a security vulnerability in the Android app, which exposes private data such as messages and chats of the users. The vulnerability affected Android smartphones with versions 8 and 9.
The company claims that 98% of the users have already downloaded and installed the security patch to avoid such a situation. Twitter explains that the hacker adds a malicious app to the smartphone to access the Twitter account. However, the new update from Twitter and the security patch will make sure that no third party application will be able to access the private data of the Twitter app in any case. The company has appealed its users to update the app to the latest version so that their data could be safe from such attacks.
One hundred thirty such accounts were hacked, which included people like Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Apple, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Uber. The US government has also captured a few men regarding this case.
